• Enhanced Structural Integrity to Deter Break-ins
Intruders break thru an entry door in 69% of all burglaries and home invasions.  In most cases, it happens in less than five seconds.   The trick is to exert just enough force so that the deadbolt rips thru the wood jamb.  Once the jamb is compromised, there is nothing left to hold the door closed.   Police and firefighters use the same technique.  A sledgehammer or stiff shoulder is often all it takes At Wheaton Door & Window, we take your security seriously.  That’s why we insist that our top-of-the-line doors are built with added features that make them virtually impossible to break thru.  We reinforce the door jambs with 18-gauge steel plates that resist blunt force openings in all but the most extreme cases.  Our steel doors are also made out of the strongest 20-gauge steel, making them impervious to most vandals.  Thicker steel means better security.  You won’t get the same protection from doors sold at the Big Box stores.  Their doors are 24 or 26 gauge, which means 40% less strength.  Which door would you want for your family?  Of course, any door is only as good as the installation.  That’s why all of our installers are master certified technicians who know the proper steps to installing a door so it is virtually tamper proof.  We train our installers to reinforce and shim at the hinges and make sure the gap between the door slab and the frame is always a constant 1/16th of an inch.  Tight fit makes it much less likely a burglar can pry a door open.

• Personalized Service and Design Consultation
Come in person and see many of our doors on display at our two showrooms in Wheaton and Beltsville.  Alternatively, make an appointment by phone or online for a free in-home consultation.  You will be visited by a highly trained Wheaton designer who will help you translate your ideas into a specific door design. Computer-aided imaging tools will show you exactly what your new door will look like.  We’ll also give you the insights and expertise that comes from 66 years of experience installing doors for Washington area homeowners.

• Custom-built for your home.

Every door we make is custom measured and built just for you!  Custom sizing is critical if your door is going to look great and provide you with the security and energy savings you expect.  When our install technician comes to your home, he will make at least seven crucial measurements that he will forward to factory engineers.  These measurements guarantee that your new door precisely fits your home’s unique opening.   We’ll gauge height at three points along the top door jamb, width at least four times from the sides and depth at the top and the bottom of the existing door.  Many of our competitors don’t make the same effort to carefully measure since it costs them time and money.   They would rather sell you a door sitting in a warehouse, even if it isn’t the correct size.  Don’t accept second best.  A poor-fitting door will be drafty in winter and in some cases will not close properly.

• Installation by Master-Certified Craftsman
All of our carpenters are extensively trained in proper door installation techniques.   Field and classroom instruction is supplemented with periodic testing and evaluation as part of the Wheaton Master Certified Installation Program.  Proper installation is critical if your door is to perform up to its factory specifications.   Poorly installed doors are likely to be drafty and unstable.  What’s more, they are more easily prone to burglars.  If a door is not properly shimmed at the hinges and around the deadbolt, it can be easily pried open with a regular screwdriver!

• Comprehensive Warranty
We guarantee all our doors with the best warranties in the business.   We will come to your home without charge for a year to make any necessary adjustments.  Plus, all of our doors are backed by comprehensive manufacturers’ warranties.

• Factory-Direct Pricing
