The year was 1945 and GI’s were returning to the States to start families and put down roots. Wheaton Maryland was a distant suburb of Washington, D.C., a city transformed by World War II.
1945 was also the year Wheaton Door & Window Company opened for business in a small store-front shop on Georgia Ave. We started by installing the latest technology designed to keep homes comfortable and energy efficient -- storm windows.
Today, more than 60 years later, Wheaton Door & Window is one of the largest door and window companies in the D.C. area, having served more than a quarter of a million satisfied customers!
